Greenberg Traurig?s Adam Siegler to Provide Welcome and Opening Remarks at Los Angeles County Bar Association Inaugural Armed Forces Ball

Event to Benefit and Honor Active Duty and Veteran Personnel

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) November 16, 2012

International law firm Greenberg Traurig is honored to be a sponsor of the Los Angeles County Bar Association?s (LACBA) inaugural Armed Forces Ball titled ?Honoring America?s Veterans.? The elegant black tie affair will take place on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012 at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel.

The Armed Forces Ball, which supports LACBA?s efforts to provide legal services to active duty and veteran personnel, will feature armed forces personnel in full military dress coming together to honor America?s veterans. Speakers are expected to include high ranking military officers and civic leaders recognizing the evening?s honorees, according to the event organizers. All branches of the military will be represented, and a Presentation of the Colors will be made.

Greenberg Traurig attorney and Iraq War Veteran Adam Siegler, who serves as Chair of the LACBA?s Armed Forces Ad Hoc Committee, will provide the welcome and opening remarks.

?The outpouring of support for this first event of its kind in Los Angeles has been overwhelming,? said Siegler. ?On behalf of the organizers, the sponsors, the active personnel, the veterans and their families who will share in this special evening, I thank everyone for their generosity and incredible support of what we hope will become an annual tradition.? Siegler also serves as the Chair of the Armed Forces Ball Planning Committee, and in 2010, developed the original concept for hosting it in Los Angeles.

Greenberg Traurig, which joined forces with Loyola Law School to produce a six-volume set of The VALOR Guide? for Veterans, will make copies available for the guests at the ball. Each volume features all known pro bono legal service providers in a particular region of California. Siegler, along with the firm?s Shareholder Jack McBride and others, will be meeting with leaders in the Veterans communities to discuss how to improve coordination and delivery of legal services for Veterans. The six-volume set serves the state of California. The guides are available online at http://intranet.lls.edu/docs/ValorGuide.pdf, and the press release is available here.

The Armed Forces Ball will also recognize the following 2012 award winners for their legal services to veterans: Hon. Harry Pregerson, For Service by a Judicial Officer; Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP -- For Service by a Firm; Rick Little, Director, Center for Veterans Advancement at Public Counsel -- For Individual Public Service; and Cristin Zeisler, Partner & Director of Pro Bono Services at Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP -- For Pro Bono Service by an Individual within a Firm.

LACBA?s Armed Forces Committee is a means to provide pro bono legal assistance to Veterans, a network for lawyers who have military experience, and the opportunity to coordinate with existing legal service and other nonprofit organizations by developing programs to support and complement each other?s efforts.

Siegler is Of Counsel in the Litigation Department of the Los Angeles office. He is a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve and was deployed to Iraq in 2008 and 2009. He is the author of the ?Wounded Warrior Bill of Rights,? and received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Loyola Law School.

McBride is a Shareholder in the Corporate and Securities practice in the firm?s Los Angeles office. He is a founding editorial board member of The VALOR Guide. He has more than 30 years of experience in leading M&A, joint venture and financing deals for a wide range of industries. He received his J.D. from St. John?s University School of Law.
