I just want to make sure that you?re all aware of two events coming up ? one is the event Neil Asher and myself are hosting in London on the 20th October, which is all about how to build a real business selling real ? physical ? products to real people. ?Online. ?Things that actually have to get posted to folks!? Not that you?d be posting them, mind!

I?d also like to recommend Martin Avis? forthcoming workshop, the Kiss Workshop in London, 13th and 14th of October.? It?s going to be absolutely brilliant, I know Nick?s already booked.? I?m going to be there as well for the whole two days, I?m staying overnight.? Nick and I are going out for dinner, if anyone of you would like to come and join us you would be most welcome.? Really it?s a collection of under the radar internet marketers who are seriously making money online but who don?t necessarily shout about it, teach about it, mentor about it or whatever.? I know several of them personally and I know they?re really serious people who are earning significant sums every month.
I know it?s still a dream of many of you to create a second income online and while I?ve made a lot of money online it?s always been through coaching and mentoring, and occasionally selling the odd product and occasionally recommending someone else?s product.? But like many of you I?d really, really like to have something rolling in the background that brings in significant sums every month ? on an automated basis.?
It?s interesting because a lot of the people that will be there are actually making money from affiliate marketing ? just from recommending other people?s stuff.? Old school and bloomin? hard work nowadays but still apparently do-able. ?Martin only recently branched out into having his own membership site and creating his own product which is a private label company that he and his wife Delia were running together.? He?s built a six-figure income literally with just a text on e-zine that he sends every week recommending other people?s stuff, all the stuff that he?s used himself, all the stuff that he?s recommending personally.? But it can be done.
Martin was one of our chosen speakers for the really useful internet day with Brett McFall and he was the obvious person to ask.? Also there that day was Sarah Starr who used to own ? well, she still does actually ? a video production company.? She was videoing it for us.? Sarah is dyslexic, which is why she uses video a lot, and she is another person who?s going to be speaking in this Kiss Workshop event in London.? I think it?s ?147 for the two days.? It?s going to be absolutely dynamite content from people who are not trying to sell you big ticket items or big ticket coaching, and it?s going to be great fun.? I wouldn?t miss it for the world.
Selling Physical Items Online
On the topic of building a business, one of my colleagues in one of the other businesses I?m involved in ?. Neil?s actually created a couple of business selling physical products rather than digital or ?info products.? Two or three that I know about.? One?s called Kidz 5 A Day, which is where he figured that he wanted his daughter Isabella to be eating more vegetables but she only liked tomatoes! ?Well do you know the SuperGreens stuff that you can buy ? good for adults but good luck getting kids to drink it! ?
I didn?t realise this, I thought Neil just licensed his products from overseas.? But it turns out he actually got what?s called a private label manufacturing company to make it for him.? It?s really delicious, I actually got it in my fridge.? His daughter loves it, it?s like chocolate milkshake.? It?s like Ovaltine mixed with chocolate milkshake.? He sells this stuff all around the world from a website.?
He?s also got a company called Advanced Child Academy, and we?ve got a lot of ACA boxes in our cupboard.? When he goes away, my daughter Phoebe takes over the packing and dispatch of the said items to the people who are buying these physical products online.? Again, they?re all over the country, they?re all over Europe.? So I know that he can do what he says he does.?
We had an interesting conversation about it the other day and he said, ?Look, why are you going to this Martin Avis thing in London??? I said because I really want to learn how to create a passive income online rather than having to coach and mentor for it all the time, although I do love doing that as well obviously.
He said it?s easy.?
I said, ?It might be easy for you Neil but it?s not easy for your average person.?? He said, ?Okay.? That sounds like a challenge to me, why don?t I teach you how to do it then we can perhaps turn it into a product or something if you want to or we might be able to turn it into a seminar in Brighton.? But the main thing is I want to prove to you that it?s a lot easier than you think it is.??
I said, ?Okay.? So then how would you do it??? He said, ?Well, I?d outsource it.? I know what to do and I?d outsource it.??
I said to him ?The problem with lots of people is that they might be able to afford to come to a seminar or come to a webinar or whatever, or even buy a tuition product, but they probably wouldn?t have the resources to then outsource it all like you would. ?You?ve got to teach them how to do it on a limited budget, otherwise you?re not moving them from knowing it?s possible for you to knowing it?s possible for them, to thinking it?s probable.? That?s what you have to do with marketing, move people from possible for them to probable for them, otherwise you won?t make any sales.??
So that?s something I wanted to share with you.? We?re doing two webinars next week.? I don?t know how he managed to talk me to doing that actually.? He?s very persuasive and very enthusiastic.? It?s difficult to say no.?
So, next week we?re doing two webinars that you really ought to come along to one or other of them.?
The other thing you want to think about is if you?re trying to sell something online, whether it?s a product or a service ? I haven?t mastered this completely yet ? you need to think about moving people from thinking that the outcome is possible for other people to moving them to think it?s possible for them, to moving them to think that it?s probable for them if they buy your product or service or invest in your product and service.
That?s why it?s easier to sell to business people really because they think in terms of investment rather than spending / buying ? although Neil is selling both Kidz 5 A Day and Advanced Child Academy to people who have jobs, have kids and who are buying stuff, they?re not investing in anything.?
So again, he?s out to blast my limiting beliefs out of the waters as he put it.? So, if you want to watch that happening that will be quite interesting.

One Philosophy [Rant] on Online Marketing | Marketing Now
Online marketing more often than not takes a beating in the press. In truth, it is one of the singularly great things about the net if you can get the hang of it.
If you can figure online marketing out, it gives you the ability to spend your time, not your money, advertising your business. It gives you access to a much broader market than any brick and mortar business. It allows you to kick the crap out of big companies that just throw money at Internet marketing, a tactic often used to crush smaller business in the brick and mortar world.
When you get down to brass knuckles, online marketing not only gives you a level playing field with the big or bigger boys, it gives you an advantage. I like to call this the leverage and arrogance advantage.
Assume you write one piece of great software and try to start a small company in the brick and mortar world. If you are deemed to be a threat by the big software companies, what is going to happen? If you don?t get bought out, they are going to wipe you out. Since you have limited resources and little leverage with retailers, you are screwed, blue and tattooed. Not on the web.
Online marketing is beautiful because it flattens the playing field for all players, big and small. The key is search engine optimization. Regardless of how much money a dominant company in an industry throws at search engine rankings, they will never have an inherent advantage over you. They have no leverage, because there is nobody to buy off. The best they can do is buy advertisements, which fewer people click. If you get the top ranking on Google, Yahoo and MSN for your keywords, nobody can knock you off unless they do a better optimization job than you do. In no way, shape or form would this ever be possible in the brick and mortar world unless you have a monstrous amount of cash.
The second reason you should use online marketing is arrogance. Dominant brick and mortar companies use marketing firms to push their brands on television, billboards, magazines and so on. When the companies open a site, they often have the same marketing firms handle their internet efforts as well. Crushing them on search engines is like taking candy from a baby. They just throw money at the problem, a strategy that fails every time on the web.
You, however, are not going to waste money by purchasing banner ads and other junk that will waste your money. Nope, you are going to pursue search engine optimization on your own or through a credible group. While the dominant company is spending $20 a click for their ads, you are going to be laughing your way to the bank as customers pour in from your top rankings on Google, Yahoo and MSN.
Does online marketing deserve the criticism it gets? Sometimes it does. Once you figure it out, however, you will never slander it again.

Poetry Analysis: 'Dream Deferred' by Langston Hughes - Epoch Times

Dream Deferred
What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun??
Or fester like a sore?
And then run??
Does it stink like rotten meat??
Or crust and sugar over??
like a syrupy sweet?
Maybe it just sags?
like a heavy load.
Or does it explode?
?Langston Hughes (1902-1967)
Langston Hughes, one of the leaders of the early 1900s Harlem Renaissance, pushed the ?black experience? beyond segregation and discrimination?from the back of the bus to front of the anthologies. His poems are read and enjoyed in classrooms throughout the country to this day. So pervasive has been the influence of his work, the line, ?a raisin in the sun,? became the title of the acclaimed play by Lorraine Hansberry.?
?What happens to a dream deferred??
?Defer? at its core signals difference and delay, and dreams inevitably contain the germ of tardiness, or otherwise they would not be dreams, but present and apparent realities.
?What happens? suggests that dreams just sit around and wait. Dreams do not exist in and of themselves, but are the product and profession of another, in the febrile mind of a fun man, or the feverish demand of a weak personality.
Dream deferred, the alliteration of noun and verb, announces the start and finish of this poem, the central goal of all that is taking place in this poem.
Yet what does happen to a dream deferred?
Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?
A raisin in the sun, rays in the sun?the sun?s rays make the grape more sweet, more tough. Raisins last a long time and do not go bad.?
In the Bible, raisins are a sensuous source of strength: ?Stay me with flagons [lit. raisin cakes], comfort me with apples: for I am sick of love.? (Song of Solomon 2:5)
Raisins speak of sustenance, restoration, the culmination of great joy; just as time must pass for the grape to dry into a more delicious fruit.
Or fester like a sore??
And then run?
A sore that festers?what a ghastly sight! This grim image imparts to the reader the lingering pain of a dream that waits to be realized, that waits to take place, that waits and waits, and then it runs. Yet in so sickening a sight, the notion of a ?running sore? indirectly implies life and opportunity. A sore that runs is a mess that heals, and in the same vein, a dream deferred will not remain ignored, but will break forth in the life of a man.
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Rotten meat, stinking like the sore, is waiting to be thrown away. Yet meat that rots, meat the stinks, is meat in which new life also lives. For what makes this stench so strong is the new creation of airborne life landing on a piece of flesh. Does the poet see this life? Does he see the seething meat as anything more than an eyesore?
Or crust and sugar over??
like a syrupy sweet?
Now the poet rhymes meat with sweet. So much time is spent on the sound ?ee??is the dream, then, something to eat? Or does the dream still eat at the dreamer? ?Crust,? a covering, protects the dream. ?Sugar over? the crust is and does, a symbol both active and passive, that the ?dream deferred? is neither lost nor forlorn. The dream gets bigger, gets smaller, but will not be static and stay still.
Maybe it just sags?
like a heavy load.
A dream that sags will not be still. The dream will not stay, like the smell, good or bad, that flies invisible from the sore, the meat, or the raisins so sweet. Is this heavy load a burden that goes nowhere? The dream is a saggy dream that does more than ?just? nothing?only this bag ?justly? sags.
Or does it explode?
Dreams that explode, come to pass, or pass through mind and heart, pressing past the staunch, stench sticking to the walls. The raisin does not explode, except in the mouth of a dry and weary traveler, renews his strength, gives him ease for the journey. The dream is now alive, refused to be put away. Not rotten, not running, not run down, but ready to be read.
?Dream Deferred? draws out the dreams deferred in a reader. When the poet poses the question, the reader goes from wondering to pondering. The poem says a lot, like the rotting meat, teeming with life while seeming lifeless, like the dream that waits to be realized.?
The poem is so sweet, so juicy, unlike the dry raisin, yet just as tasty. The little poem backs a big, bomb punch, ?explodes? in the mind, and beckons deferred dreams to fruition.

Organic Gardening And You: Helpful Tips And Advice
An organic garden is an interest you have. Now?s the time! Below are some excellent ideas to help you begin down the road to an exceptional organic garden.
Use an old laundry basket to bring your fresh produce in from the garden. The laundry basket is a perfect strainer for any produce run off. Rinse your crops while in the laundry basket to strain the excess water.
If you plant tomatoes, make sure you plant a second batch roughly three weeks after the first ones were done. This makes sure that you are not inundated with a huge tomato harvest all at one time. While ruin in one harvest can be an issue, having multiple harvests to look forward to can alleviate some of the issue.
Have biodiversity in your organic garden. Wildlife will be drawn to the multiple species of plants that you incorporate into your garden. Try planting many different groups of plants in the garden so you are able to recreate a more natural environment. Different varieties can give you a pleasant garden to relax in, while doing good things for the environment.
Compost the leaves raked from your yard and mix it with your soil. This is because leaves decompose, so you give your plants a healthy organic compost full of nutrients to help your plants grow. This is a free way to boost the health of your garden?s soil.
If aphids are a problem in your organic garden, then good ?old-fashioned? soapy water may be just the trick to solve your dilemma. Just spray the entire plant ? buds, leaves, and stems ? with a light solution of soapy water and follow up with a second spray of clean water.
You should add mulch to your garden and flowerbed using at least three inches of organic material. This will retain moisture in the soil as well as provide nourishment. It also inhibits weed growth, resulting in a tidier presentation of your organic garden.
When you prepare fresh vegetables for your meals, take a couple minutes after you?re done with dinner and cut up the extra pieces finely, then add them to the garden. The veggies will decay quickly and put back important nutrients into your new plants that you plan on growing. You can also use those trimmings in your compost heap, but this method is much quicker.
Aspirin water will strengthen your plants against diseases. Dissolve three aspirin in four gallons of water. Next, coat the plant with the aspirin mixture by spraying it on the leaves. Apply this solution to your plants every few weeks.
It is economically smart to focus your gardening efforts on crops that would cost you more to buy at the supermarket. Value is subjective and will vary from person to person. Growing plants organically is much more affordable than always purchasing them from the grocery store; over time, the savings will definitely add up. So start planting and enjoying those savings.
Depending on where you live, you may be able to continue harvesting some garden crops during the winter. You can protect these vegetables by covering them with a homemade tent. Use old bean poles and stick them into the ends of your beds. Then, throw sheets on top of them, and use bricks to keep the edges held down. This is an inexpensive method of building tents in order for you to save your crops in the winter time.
Use companion plants within your garden. Certain specimens, if located near specific plants, create a mutually beneficial growing relationship. These plants make the soil richer, and make pesticides and fertilizers unnecessary. For instance, highly fragrant types of herbs and succulents work to stave off vegetable plant pests.
